Play Whimsically

A play is just that: play. At the core of my directing philosophy is the belief that playing with ideas (as wild and inconceivable as they may be) not only makes the finished production better, but is the essence of creating theatre. By organizing my rehearsals efficiently, I am able to create opportunities to explore and collaborate with my team to discover new ways to tell our story. Personally, I love to play with visual storytelling to supplement text - such as experimenting with shadows (puppets), glow in the dark light, sign language, and more to provide an additional level of communication to the audience.  Many of my proudest moments on stage were first conceived by an actor, myself, a designer, or a crew member asking the golden question: "what if we..?"
